Airplane Academy Private Pilot Flashcards
Airplane Academy Private Pilot Flashcards
Maintaining aviation knowledge often takes a backseat once the checkride is complete. The Private Pilot Flashcards from Airplane Academy provide a practical way to keep that information fresh and accessible.
Comparison to Standard Cards
In the past, I used a cheap set of flashcards that rarely saw use outside of checkride preparation. The Airplane Academy set is a different experience. The form factor is much more convenient for daily study, and I’m glad I treated myself to this higher-quality set.
Quality and Content
This set includes over 350 color-coded cards covering the Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge (PHAK), Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), and the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM). The cards are organized into six key sections:
- Regulations
- Plane & Pilot
- Systems
- Weather
- Airport Operations
- Airspace & Navigation
Each 3x5” card focuses on a single topic, simplifying complex information for easier review.
Practical Rotating Study
The box system makes it very convenient to scan a few cards each day and simply put them back in the box with the next one up. Once you’re done with a section, you can just put it in the back and the wheel goes round and round, ensuring a continuous rotation of all topics. This system ensures that critical knowledge—frequently neglected outside of oral tests—remains top-of-mind for practical use.
Final Review
I am a long-time fan of Charlie’s content at Airplane Academy due to his continuous theme of helping pilots get better. This flashcard set was clearly created in that same vein. If you are looking for a durable, organized tool to maintain proficiency, these are highly effective.
