GA Kneeboard Update: v6.12.0 - Complete Your Flight Planning with Departure Plates ✈️

We’re excited to announce the release of v6.12.0, bringing a highly requested enhancement to the Airport Tile!

Departure Plates Now Available

Previously, the Airport Tile strictly provided Approach (IAP) charts to support your landing phases. While essential, many of you asked for parity on your outbound leg.

In this update, we’ve enriched the backend FAA ADIP data pipeline to fetch Departure Plates (DP). Your departure charts are now conveniently located right next to the approaches in the Airport Tile under a unified, tabbed interface: “DEP” and “APP.”

Smoother Preflight Workflow

We know that a crisp pre-flight flow sets the tone for your whole trip.

  • Tabbed Interface: With space at a premium in the cockpit, we’ve consolidated everything into an intuitive tabbed view that lists both document counts at a glance (DEP (X) and APP (Y)).
  • Departure Default: Because the first thing you need on a fresh flight plan is your departure routing, the DEP tab is selected by default to jumpstart your ground operations setup.

Getting Started

Make sure you’ve upgraded your client and backend to v6.12.0. Load up an airport with known departure procedures (like Seattle or San Francisco) and check out the new layout in your Airport Tile.

As always, happy flying, and please keep the feedback coming!
