Introducing the Emergency Tile: Clarity When You Need It Most

In a high-workload, stressful situation, the last thing any pilot needs is to struggle with their tools. When things go wrong, you need clear, actionable information immediately.

That is why we built the new Emergency Tile.

This specialized tile is designed intentionally to cut through the noise and give you exactly what you need when you need it. It features five distinct display modes, each tailored to a specific type of emergency or decision-making scenario:

  1. VFR Lost Comms: A quick reference for standard VFR lost communication procedures, ensuring you know exactly how to handle airspace entry and landing without a radio.
  2. IFR Lost Comms: Critical routing and altitude reminders (AVEF-MEA) to keep you predictable to ATC if your radios fail while on an IFR flight plan.
  3. Distress Call: A structured guide for making Mayday or Pan-Pan calls, including the standard format (Who you are calling, who you are, what the emergency is, your location, and your intentions) so you don’t freeze on the mic.
  4. Lost Procedure: The classic 5 Cs (Climb, Communicate, Confess, Comply, Conserve) right at your fingertips to help get you back on track safely.
  5. Decide Model: The ultimate aeronautical decision-making framework (Detect, Estimate, Choose, Identify, Do, Evaluate) structured neatly to help you evaluate alternatives and choose the safest course of action.

We hope you never have to use this tile in a real emergency, but if you do, it will be there to give you the clarity and confidence to fly the airplane and handle the situation gracefully.
